Without further adieu--Digital Photography

So, I'm definitely not a good photographer but I really enjoy it. So, I decided to take this digital photography class to get a better grasp on image making. In short, I signed up for this digital photography class as a treat to myself. Little did I know that I would have to sell my soul to the Devil in order to get a little extra time to work on my photos. The pictures I'm posting are a little ridiculous but they were to show technique... not necessarily subject matter. I'm only posting these ones for now because these also happen to be the pictures hanging up in the FAV hallway. Yea! My work has gone from my mom's refrigerator to the hallway in the art building. It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it... Moving on.

This first shot was to show how to use the shadow/highlight filter:

These next 2 images are examples of composite imaging and blending techniques:

This last picture is of my dear, sweet Grandma Peterson. We had to use a posterization effect--gorgeous, overly-used effect but awesome nonetheless. I love this picture but I don't have the heart to show it to my grandma because I'm sure she will HATE it but still grit through her teeth, "Kory, it's beautiful..." Granted, it's not the most flattering but that's what I love about it.
