Good Ol' Logan UT!

Here are some logos for a couple businesses here in Logan, UT.

Although I can't say anything about this first logo or the company itself, I can at least show the logo to you. This is for a startup company called McCole Co.

The second logo is for a website hosting company called Geek Toast. I actually use them to host all of my sites. They rock! Check them out at http://www.geektoast.com

I CAN NOT take full credit for this logo. The owner had put together the Toast character, I just helped him polish it up. I DID, however, create the wordmark.

GeoBob/IDIAS

Here's a logo I created for my job at USU. Well, the division recently lost its funding so I just finished there. In short, GeoBob is a division of IDIAS that created apps for iPhone and Droid. Feel free to read more about them. I also designed the site!

I'm SO Stacked!

When my good buddy, Adam Brown, came to me and told me he was starting a pancake business (Stacked Pancakes), I had to laugh. That crazy Adam Brown and his shenanigans! However, it sounds like things are going well and I wish him the very best luck! He's a stand up guy. In fact, GO TO THE FARMER'S MARKET IN LOGAN TO CHECK OUT HIS SWEET PANCAKES! Every Saturday- it is bound to rock your face off.

Anywho, he came to me asking for a logo design. Being a huge fan of pancakes, I graciously accepted. How often do you get to design a pancake logo? That's what I thought.

Here are some comps and below is the final product.

Interesting side note- Because of this logo I was asked to speak to a class at Steven's Henegar College about my design process. It was a cool experience and I hope the teacher didn't say, "Disregard everything he just said," when I left the class room.

Forget Louis Louis Vuitton

Who needs Louis Vuitton when you've got Kory Fenton! Ok, that was a little cheezy but there is a purpose. Our final project for Brand ID was to develop our own clothing company and do the branding for it- letterhead, envelopcarde, clothing tags, business s... etc. Well, I can't put everything on here yet because my final is still hanging in the hallway up on campus but I figured I'd post my logo. I'll post a picture of my other stuff when I get it back next week. Side note- I am super stoked for school to start tomorrow! I hate how type doesn't convey sarcasm.

UPDATED 2/21 - Fenton Clothing Business Package

So, I finally got my projects back from last semester. Here are some of my pictures from this project. I am pretty upset because I had this really awesome metal tag that my friend made at his machine shop and it fell off of my presentation board on my way home and I have no idea where it's at. That was the best part of all of this! Oh well.

I've lost that branding feeling...

So, I haven't updated very much from my Brand ID class... so here we go-

This first picture is the end result of a logo that we had to design for a fake Greek restaurant called Mythos.

This next logo is for the new department (?) for this grant that was given to USU. It's called IDIAS and they are designing educational games/simulations. This project taught me a very valuable lesson--some people just don't know what the hell they want. This project was so frustrating because the guy in charge had no idea what he actually wanted. To make a long story short, NONE of the logos designed for the project "solved the issue." Here's what I came up with. The first one is the one I turned in but the second one is my revised version. I like both for different reasons.

Last but not least--my most recent project. This time we're designing a logo for the new art studio on campus that's in FAV 102. Naturally, it's called Studio 102. This logo is still "in the works" but here's what I've got so far.

UPDATED 1/10/10

Here's what I finished with on my Studio 102 project.

Brand ID

So, I've decided to throw some of my Brand Identity stuff up here. We've worked on a few projects: Zoo Animal, My initials, and some band name.

Zoo Animal:

I ended up chucking these sketches... I really liked how they looked when I drew just half the face but it looked awful when I put them together. I thought it looked more like a dog or a bear--see for yourself.

Then I went to this:

My intitials:
I lost my original sketches but here are the ideas I threw around after my sketches. I've put a asterisk next to the ones I like.

Here the final image I turned in:

Band Name:
So this logo has a bit of a funny story. I was racking my somewhat hollow brain with what font/fonts I wanted to use for this but everything I tried seemed too obvious or too lame. For those of you that don't know me, Chucks is my band. I think I was going crazy because this was something too close to home to me and I couldn't narrow down my ideas for the logo. Well, I was bored at work and the only programs I have access to are Word, Excel, and paint. So, I started messing around in Excel and voila! I had my logo. Then I took it into MS Paint to touch it up a bit--yes, you heard me right--Paint. I know it sounds crazy but for what I have to do to get it right, I use Paint. Then into Illustrator to get my vector. The rest is history. Here is the logo.

This is after I've touched it up in Paint:

Here's after Illustrator:
